Scope

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Florence Bascom Geoscience Center (FBGC), intends to award a non-competitive purchase order to Microtrac Inc, located in York, PA, for one (1) Microtrac Camsizer 3D instrument with data evaluation unit, to be delivered to Reston, VA within 30 days of award. The Camsizer 3D offers the unique ability to analyze both the 2D and 3D characteristics of particles ranging from 20�m - 30mm (diameter) in 2-dimensional space, and from 150�m - 20mm (diameter) in 3-dimensional space. This is a wide range that is required for the types of sediments being processed at the USGS. This wide range, analytical capabilities (sphericity, roundness, 3D morphology), and speed of operation (2-5 minutes per sample) of the Camsizer 3D equipment is necessary for the 2D and 3D analytical imaging requirements of the USGS.
