Scope

PROJECT NUMBER: UT NP ARCH 100(2) PROJECT NAME: Bridges on Delicate Arch Road PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Delicate Arch Road (DAR) is within Arches National Park (Park) and provides access to Delicate Arch. DAR is a functional class 1 roadway (Principal Park Road) and is heavily traveled by visitors and often congested during periods with moderate-to-high levels of visitation. DAR crosses three low-gradient ephemeral washes (Salt Valley Wash, Salt Wash, and Winter Camp Wash) near their confluence in the Salt Wash Basin downstream of Wolfe Ranch. Culverts installed during original road construction in the mid-1990s and during subsequent upgrades are inadequate to allow unobstructed stream flow and sediment transport downstream.
