FSC Meridian Fire Reporting & Control Systems, NAS Meridian

Scope

Naval Air Station Meridian is located in east-central Mississippi, near Meridian, Mississippi in Lauderdale and Kemper counties. Approximately 20 miles northeast of the city of Meridian between State Highways 39 and 45. NAS Meridian hosts Training Air Wing One (TRAWING-1). The installation serves as a premier jet flight-training base, supporting Training Squadron 7 (VT-7) and Training Squadron 9 (VT-9). The air station trains hundreds of Navy and Marine Corps student aviators utilizing the T-45C Goshawk jet trainer. There are outlying fields used for student training. All maintenance and repair shall be performed by personnel trained and certified by the OEM. Personnel inspecting, witnessing tests, preparing reports, and issuing certificates for boilers and UPVs must be qualified per UFC 3-430-07.
