Scope

NASA�s Technology Transfer Program solicits inquiries from companies interested in obtaining license rights to commercialize, manufacture and market the following technology. License rights may be issued on an exclusive or nonexclusive basis and may include specific fields of use. NASA provides no funding in conjunction with these potential licenses. THE TECHNOLOGY: NASA�s Universal Modular Interface Converter (UMIC) innovation is a bidirectional AC/DC power converter designed to connect lunar surface power assets and enable power sharing over long distances between sources (e.g. solar) and loads. The UMIC module is intended to be lightweight and readily deployable. The UMIC innovation can essentially serve as the backbone of an electrical power grid for lunar surface exploration and development missions operated by NASA or the commercial space industry.
